Resources to Support Healthy Eating in Schools
The following resources support the implementation of the Ministry of Education's Guidelines for Food and Beverage Sales in B.C. Schools. The Guidelines are to be implemented in Elementary Schools by January 2008 and Middle and Secondary Schools by September 2008. If you require further support or would like a PAC presentation, please contact the Healthy, Safe and Caring Schools Office.
A binder of the resources, entitled Resources to Support Healthy Eating in Schools, is being distributed to schools in the Greater Victoria School District. Resources included in the binder are listed below. Schools are welcome to print more copies, as needed, of the resources. Another resource, the Healthy Eating at School website, has recently been revised. The website contains school nutrition resources and is presented by the BC Dairy Foundation, ActNow BC and the Knowledge Network. The website now features the draft version of the latest resource titled Tips and Recipes for School Food Services: Meeting the Guidelines for Food and Beverage Sales in BC Schools.
